Lets go back to the 1980's!

I did this shoot about a year ago now and looking back it feels just like yesterday! I wanted to put these up on the blog as i feel like they are very much worthy of showcasing...i mean come on! Who doesn't love an adorable old lady wearing 1980's style fashion just like she would have back in the day well...maybe her children would have anyway! But i wanted to try out something different and experiment a little. I figured, why not. My Nan was very much up for the whole thing so we went ahead and one day last year in chilly october me and my Nan went outside her house in the back lane and i worked my magic with the camera while she soaked up all the attention and enjoyed posing, haha! I've got to say the most funniest thing about doing this was we had to be quick as my Nan didn't want any of her friends to bump into her dressed like she was from the 80's as you can guess it is EXTREMELY far away from her usual OOTD look. A cute fluffy patterned cardy, smart pants or skirt and comfy flat shoes is what you would normally find my Nan wearing. But don't worry i didn't force her to smoke the cigarette she had smoked since she was in her 20's up until this year as she has given up completely and packed in the cigarettes for good and im proud of her for that. The shoot was to send the message out that you feel as young as you are on the inside and your clothes should reflect this, don't comply with the times...be who you want to be, wear what you want! BE CONFIDENT. It was also to show the contrast in the way a person changes within time and how fashion goes out of trend and new ones come in. The matured brick wall contrasts with the colourings of the subject and juxtaposes with the softness of her complexion due to her soft skin with the natural lighting.
